The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) sixth assessment report, “Climate Change 2022: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability”, was released on 28 February and assessed the impacts of climate change, looking at ecosystems, biodiversity, and human communities at global and regional levels.
The report has been described as a dire warning about the consequences of inaction, “an atlas of human suffering, and a damning indictment of failed climate leadership”.
BFM dissects key messages and findings from the report with Meenakshi Raman, the president of Sahabat Alam Malaysia and the head of programmes at Third World Network. They also discuss some of the contentious issues that resulted from negotiations for the final summary for policymakers.
