On 13 January Deputy PM Zahid Hamidi suggested the enactment of a fixed-term parliaments law to prevent mid-term changes of the government.

Later, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the cabinet had yet to convene any discussion on this.

BFM speaks to Tharma Pillai, an activist with Undi18, about why the call for this legislation was made.
