A professor, who himself is a Chinese Malaysian, accused the vernacular schools, including the Chinese schools, of being the main cause of disunity in Malaysia. The professor even accused the Chinese of insulting the Malays and the Malay language.
Prof Tajuddin Rasdi does not support this accusation and lists many incidents in Malaysia that have far-reaching consequences.

Di Malaysia ada sjk cina, sjk tamil dan tidak ada sekolah melayu. Secara logik, jika orang luar tengok di Malaysia ni hanya ada orang india & cina.
Sampai begitu sekali kerendahan hati melayu dieksploitasi kesombongan bangsa pendatang.
It is the politicians that sow the seeds of disunity!! Hands down.
Politicians are the root cause. Period.
I am Chinese. I agree that the concept of SK is important to nation building. My parents went to chinese school, we were sent to SK. I asked my dad why? His answer was that it will better prepare us for the future. Fast fwd 30yrs. I make a decision where to send my kids. I chose international school that costs RM40k pa per child. Why? I didnt want my child to hv the same experience that i had growing up mixing with children of various races. Ironically, its in the international school that this experience could be had. Imagine those who cant afford? Who wants quality education for their kids. They will have no choice but to send to chinese school. Its not about race its about quality of education. I had to pay for it.
Hahaha…ulasan tak masuk dengan tajuk lain, …adoii la.
Prof apa lagu ni…buat malu saja
Ask ur children now who are ur chinese /indian friend if ur a malay and Vice versa. The answer is none. How can they become friends if they dont met any in their world. What do u think??
Pundits Blame the weakness of the entire Malay language and Malay culture on the existence of other languages hahaha. Typical victim mentality, next they will go after international school, blame English, blame colonialism, what isn’t fair game to those with victim mentality ?
The local bumiputras are weak on STEM subjects, they see it dominated by Chinese Malaysians, but instead of getting better at it, only the malays amongst the bumiputras choose to attack the Chinese languages and schools, and this is already with reverse affirmative action policies in place. Textbook style Loser pride and victim mentality associative behaviors shown here by these pundits.
Unite for what?
It’s a long story…you can’t just say yes or no…or by just one posting by a professor than the save is solve ..it’s a long winding road..
Vernacular schools have been used as platforms to inseminate chineseness rather than malaysianness among the chinese pupils. They are being internalised to fight for their being as chinese living in msia hence dismissing other races n not taught to exist in unison with other races. The chinese do not speak bahasa msia fluently bcoz of this n do not regard other races as important components of their social existence. The vernacular school therefore is mere doing one sided favour to other races like chinese n indian but do not contribute much to Msia’s social unity and harmony overall. Sek Ren vernacular is fine but Sek Men vernacular serves least purpose for social unity n contribute a lot to chinese not being able to speak Malay fluently

Exactly, I would rsthet write in BM
Saya adalah seorang Melayu. Saya dilahirksn jauh sebelum merdeka.
Nanti saya sambung lago
As a former teacher and lecturer I totally agree that vernacular schools are one of the causes for racial disunity in Msia.
You got doctorate in … is it ? Bodoh sikit right ? As an ultra Malay, aren’t you ashamed of typing in English ?
Your sense of egotistical make you felt in such way.
Then we shouldn’t have International Schools as they teach in English and follow the British, Australian, Japanese, Chinese and American Curriculum.
The rich and elite who send their children here are causing racial disunity is it? Think before you express yourself. May of the elites are locals and send their children to these schools.
So do we have special provisions for the elite and the average Malaysian who send their kids to Chinese schools are labelled as causing racial disunity.
Teaching in a vernacular language can never contribute to racial disunity. It’s the politicians that breed hatred in vernacular schools creating racial tension. They put fire in as many pots as possible hoping that one will explode violently.
It was the Game Loop hole.
they concentrating to create tentions division. if not there will be no room for them to exist.
The only remedy is the rakyat is united and open for conference n discussion.
the more isolating our self the easier they guid us by the nose …
United Rakyat by mutual respect is the worst thing they wish for.
because language and culture is not the thing that seperate ppl
It’s The Blind believe on so call leaders that splits people.
My view is that only people with shallow and provocative thinking will seek unrealistic factors as a reason for disunity. When you point a finger to a person or thing, only one finger points out whereas the others are clenched and ponts back at you, right? Similarly, human beings with I’ll intentions never look at themselves in the mirror and admit their shortcomings. They always play the devil’s advocate. Why are things that have been around for decades, suddenly becoming a cause for disunity? We have been living in a unified state for decades. Sad to see how people can easily get influenced by rotten apples. May God have mercy on our country.
There are at least near fifty thousands Malay students attended Chinese medium primary and secondary schools all these years. Why not ask them and their parents whether those rhetoric about lack of patriotism , and discrimination in Chinese medium schools are real..
Very true
I don’t like to waste my time on commenting about unwanted prof tajuddins comment. 1st of all if he feel important for unity he don’t have to tuch about sensitiviti of feelings of other races.
Sugu, first understand what Prof. Tajuddin is stating. Don’t be a fool, stop misleading.
Main culprit are the politicians.
Sorry to interrupt,I think you misunderstood, please listen again to the audio,he is defending that’s the venercular school is not the reason for disunity.
Sugu, do you know what Professor Tajuddin advocates? He supports vernacular schools from the beginning. You don’t know head and tail, so don’t simply come in and show your heroness.
Cupid understand the contents.first
Sugu sugu…the professor was defending the vernecular schools la
Vernacular schools are declared constituitional in this country so please stop arguing about this anymore by some malay brain drain professors , politicians and non governmental organisations please do pay more attentions on current economy situation , our currency depreciations, upgrade better education systems , price hike on goods and higher taxes , stopped discriminating others faith or religion treat everyone as a malaysians.
So you support the statement from a Chinese professor who said that vernacular schools are the cause of racial division in Malaysia?
Agreex with the Professor Tajuddin. Politician also one of the main cause of the disunity. Malaysia policitian always emphasis on the race matter instead of economy and the country progress (how to get a better country)
If they were there would be NO non Chinese in the Chinese Schools nor will there be No Non Indians in Tamils schools. Students from there schools grow up to be more understanding of the word Unity. I believe that those from the Madrasahs type of schools are mostly likely taught to HATE anyone who is different from them ” culture- wise “.
When is Malaysia going to get rid of all these Narrow minded myopic Politicians??. Pleasw let us NOT insult the word Leaders by calling them as such . They are Politicians … and if one were to look at what taxes they paid at 25 and if or they are ever paying any or look at the properties and wealth they have accumulated .. They are truly not worthy of themselves .
Madrasahs do not teach students to hate other faiths. Islam embraces all mankind and it will endeavour to bring all man to the right path.
The professor was defending our vernecular schools. Did you even watch the video bro
Vernacular schools are not the cause off disunity, politions and some ngos are the main cause off disunity in Malaysia.
