Penang Deputy Chief Minister Dr P Ramasamy has called for the government to reform the civil service, saying that it was now dominated by Malays.

This has received flak from both sides of the political divide. BFM talks to Noor Farida Mohd Ariffin, a member of G25 and former ambassador, and Ben Suffian, Merdeka Center’s programme director about Ramasamy’s remarks, the political fallout and the PM’s response.

Govt employment should be based on qualifications and personal principles not on race or religion.
