The appointment of a no-nonsense courageous lawyer to head the anti-graft commission will certainly do justice to the fight against corruption, says JD Lovrenciear.
The surprise appointment of Latheefa Koya as the new chief of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is the best Raya gift for the nation.
As acknowledged by many prominent leaders in Pakatan Harapan and civil society, Latheefa’s appointment sets the Malaysian dream for a corrupt-free society on an even surer footing.
While we thank and salute the outgoing chief Mohd Shukri Abdull whose courageous fight against the top guns of the previous regime gave Malaysians the strength to march onwards, Latheefa brings sunshine to the present government’s leadership. Indeed it is a great way to end this holy month of fasting, reflection and prayer.
This appointment of a no-nonsense courageous lawyer will certainly do justice to the great work accomplished by her predecessor and re-ignite our hopes for greater integrity and accountability in the country’s administration.
