KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific hosted a webinar focusing on the importance of freedom of information in Malaysia for the role it plays in facilitating good governance, transparency and accountability.
Panel speakers spoke of the challenges faced in the past: with the implementation of state-level freedom of information enactments, current developments to introduce freedom of information at the federal level, and the importance of ensuring that the right to know is not a privilege, but a public good that is necessary in a democracy.
