Are ordinary people being given a meaningful say in shaping the policies that govern our lives?

Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia believes that a Manifesto Rakyat or People’s Manifesto will give us that opportunity, by gathering ordinary people’s policy priorities and scrutinising the government’s progress on its reform commitments.

But can public demands actually translate into political action? Astro Awani’s Melisa Idris talks to Dr Lim Chee Han, the programme coordinator for Manifesto Rakyat and an executive committee member of Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia, and Azura Nasron, the executive director of human rights group Suaram.
