MCA and MIC not campaigning in KKB: Are the two parties being honourable or selfish?

In this video, Prof Tajuddin Rasdi provides his analysis of the MCA and the MIC choosing not to campaign ahead of the Kuala Kubu Bharu by-election for a vacancy in the Selangor state assembly.

He points out:

  • The MCA and the MIC are acting selfishly just because a Barisan Nasional candidate was not chosen. Meanwhile, Umno is going to the ground to help the DAP candidate from the unity government’s coalition
  • The MCA says the DAP had insulted them in many statements in the past, but this is a childish thing to refer to. DAP secretary general Anthony Loke had apologised to its ‘enemy’, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, and worked together in the same coalition
  • Many are saying Anwar Ibrahim has not made much headway with reforms, but these people forget that the MCA and the MIC were part of BN, which caused much damage to the country under Najib Razak and Dr Mahathir Mohamad
  • The MIC is saying the ethnic Indians are marginalised, but why are there very rich Indian leaders who got rich from money given to the Indian community? We must all help each other, respect one another and be inclusive in our failures and successes to move the country forward.
