Perjanjian Perdagangan Asean (PPA) dipersetujui antara enam buah negara Asean pada tahun 1992. Ianya dikatakan sedang meningkatkan ekspot, memacu ekonomi, serta jana peluang pekerjaan untuk Malaysia.

Akan tetapi, pengkritik mendakwa PPA ini menyekat gaji pekerja Malaysia. Malahan, dikhuatiri PPA ini mendorong pengurangan kadar cukai koporat di rantau Asean.

A respiratory physician who was awarded a gold medal for community service, he is also a secretariat member of the Coalition Against Health Care Privatisation and chairperson of the Socialist Party of Malaysia.
