Pope Leo calls for people of goodwill to reject violence and pursue peace, specifically describing the ongoing conflict as an unjust war that is failing to resolve anything.

He highlights the humanitarian toll on the innocent, including children and older people, while condemning attacks on civilian infrastructure as a violation of international law.

Finally, he encourages people to urge their political leaders and authorities to engage in dialogue and prioritise peace over further escalation.

Good of His Holiness Pope Leo to have mentioned Iran’s unjust war. He should have also mentioned the sufferings of the people in Ukraine and Sudan too.
