If a state was to increase the number of seats in its state legislative assembly, an exercise to redraw constituency boundaries would be needed.

Also, after eight years from the completion of the last review of boundaries, the Election Commission may carry out another redrawing, in line with the 13th schedule of the Federal Constitution.
