It has been slightly over 10 years since the iconic Bersih 2 rally took place on 9 July 2011.
Authorities fired tear gas and water cannons. Close to 1,700 people were arrested. But it did not break the spirits of those who were protesting, who marched on.
To mark its 10th anniversary, BFM speaks to activists Nalini Elumalai and Ivy Josiah, important figures in the Bersih 2 rally.
