Malaysia has agreed to send the first batch of over 1,000 Myanmar refugees home on 29 September.
This is part of a wider plan to repatriate 5,000 people, which the government is calling “voluntary”.
Now, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that he’ll invite Myanmar’s junta-backed president, Min Aung Hlaing, for an official visit to Malaysia to help negotiate the process further.
