The Gerak Independent movement has announced it will be contesting in six seats currently held by Pakatan Harapan in the coming general election.

BFM speaks to Dr Bridget Welsh, honorary research associate at the University of Nottingham’s Asia Research Institute, and Dr Oh Ei Sun from the Singapore Institute of International Affairs about the role that independent candidates have. They explore whether there is an actual hunger from the people for more independent voices.
