But many in the Peninsula see things through the lens of national politics, ie what does it mean for Pakatan Harapan, what does it mean for Barisan Nasional, etc. But what was the Sabah election about for Sabahans themselves?

I will revisit the speakers opinions at a different time – the fact of the matter is the defeat of the PH + is still raw. It matters not now – Shafie Apdal is part of the opposition and Mahaiddin can trumpet that he has Sabah’s CM in his cup!!
