The palace has issued a statement saying that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong recommends for Parliament to reconvene as soon as possible.

BFM speaks to Karen Cheah, co-chairperson of the Bar Council’s constitutional law committee; Aira Azhari, manager of the democracy and governance unit, Ideas; and Shazwan Mustafa Kamal, a senior associate with Vriens & Partners, to examine what this means for the emergency, by first revisiting the separation and prioritisation of powers between the Agong and the PM.

They also look at the possibility of Parliament reopening before discussing how effective the emergency has been so far.
