The Southeast Asian Arts Censorship Database

ArtsEquator, an online platform that champions Southeast Asian arts and culture, has been carrying out a wide-ranging study on arts censorship called the Southeast Asian Arts Censorship Database.

The project includes researchers from six countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

BFM talks to ArtsEquator co-founder Kathy Rowland and Malaysian project researcher Zikri Rahman about what the project aims to do and what it tell us about arts censorship in the region.
