Students at the University of Edinburgh walked out of their graduation ceremony recently, demanding that the university divest from Israeli companies.

The action is part of a wider wave of student-led demonstrations across the UK, urging institutions to cut financial ties with companies linked to Israel amid its ongoing military operations in Gaza.

The university also indirectly holds £58m in Blackrock, an investment management company that owns 8.6%. The UoE was named in a UN report From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide.
