University students say no to ministry’s concert guidelines

The Ministry of Higher Education has proposed guidelines on entertainment, such as concerts, for higher education institutions.

The Universiti Malaya Association of New Youth (Umany) is challenging this with a judicial review, saying that such guidelines go against the values of freedom and autonomy that universities should uphold. BFM speaks to Umany vice-president Lai Yue Yi about the group’s stand.
