Here’s a subject that will divide opinion. If you’re living in Malaysia, should you vote where you live, or should you vote in your hometown?

Take a moment to look at the address on your identity card right now. Does it indicate the town or city that you were born in, or was it updated to reflect where you live your life now in Malaysia?

Is it bad for democracy if you vote in the hometown you no longer reside in? Does voting where you live now give you more power to change the way things are done in your community? How significant is nostalgia when it comes to elections?
