No honour in BN victory
The Barisan Nasional will win - there is no doubt about it. But it will be a victory won without honour; it will be a victory secured through deceit and lies.

Both the Prime Minister and his Deputy promised to conduct a gentlemanly election, without slandering anyone and without being personal. What we have witnessed thus far is a shocking disregard for truth and ethics.

KeADILan banners were taken down by the Election Commission for no apparent reason. The EC seems to be waging a fight against the opposition on behalf of the BN. The justification for the removal of the banners was not only laughable but it was downright asinine.

Huge billboards scream that a vote for the DAP is a vote for PAS. This is really a scandalous and dishonest statement, lacking in integrity and exposing a bankruptcy in ideas. Instead of taking on the DAP on issues, lies are being spun to mislead the voters.

The DAP and PAS have been at loggerheads and have been going for each other's throat ever since they parted company more than two years ago. This parting was greeted by the BN gleefully claiming that the opposition was in shambles and that they were greatly weakened. How then is any relationship between DAP and PAS now possible?

The Prime Minister has been dubbed as Mr Clean. This Mr Clean has stated that the 11the general election will be clean. In the light of what is taking place - absolutely unbecoming conduct by the BN - Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has not condemned this action nor has he commented on it. He has chosen to remain silent. This doesn't speak well for his much-proclaimed clean image.

He has a responsibility to speak up on this issue. Silence is certainly not an option. He will do well to adhere to the saying, "ou are not only responsible for what you say, but also for what you do not say."
